About Our Company:

Trillium Architects is perhaps the most experienced `green` architecture firm in the Fairfield County + Westchester County areas of greater NYC, if not CT. Trillium Architects LLC was started in 2004 and has focused solely on the highly sustainable design of smaller houses from day one. Elizabeth DiSalvo, the principal of the firm has been personally practicing sustainable, smaller residential architecture since 1992 when she lived off the grid in a Passive Solar house in Colorado.

Elizabeth met Sarah Susanka for the first time in the year 2000 and was thrilled to meet someone who was leading the charge in our shared cause. The `Not So Big House` model is a given in our firm. We combine its ideals with extreme attention to the planning and detailing of sustainable construction, energy efficiency and natural materials. We believe that living in a smaller, healthy home that works is – by far- the best way to live.

We invite you to call us and tell us your needs and desires. We would love to help you achieve them, no matter how ‘Not So Big’ they are!

Our favorite clients are like minded clients, we would love to work with you! However we know we cannot work with everybody. If you choose not to work with us, we wish you all of the best in furthering the cause of making a great little house that spans generations.

Statement of Licensure:

We are licensed (at all times) in CT and NY. Our primary locations for work are Fairfield and Westchester Counties, Litchefield County and many of the upstate NY counties.
We have held licenses in CA, NC and NJ and can easily become licensed in any state as/if required by project. We have done work in many of the 50 states, and worked with or without a license in each, as was deemed best for the project.

NCARB Certification: Architect is NCARB certified.

* The NCARB certification often expedites reciprocity - the process through which one can offer his or her professional services in different jurisdictions after earning an initial license. This means that if an NCARB certified architect is not licensed in your state, the process for getting him/her licensed there in order to work on your project will be fairly quick.
