Inspired by the simplicity of New England vernacular buildings and landscapes, Katie Hutchison Studio composes and fosters meaningful architecture, design, and places.

Founded in 2002, Katie Hutchison Studio (KHS) offers residential architectural services, a blog titled House Enthusiast, and Katie co-hosts the "Design Me a House" podcast, available at https://www.designmeahouse.com/ and wherever you get your podcasts . The services, publications, and products created by KHS all revolve around the design, interpretation, and appreciation of the places we call home.

Architect Katie Hutchison believes in shaping quality homes and creative spaces that are in scale with the lifestyles of those who inhabit them and with their greater environment. KHS encourages adapting or renovating existing construction where appropriate and/or building smaller, all of which are critical steps toward designing and building greener. KHS listens and asks questions in order to create informed and inspired solutions.

KHS architectural and design projects are located in Rhode Island and on the North Shore of Boston, Cape Cod, and Martha`s Vineyard. KHS now serves the Southcoast of Massachusetts, too.

Katie`s architectural and design work, along with her writing, have appeared in Cottage Living, Cape Cod & Islands HOME, Northshore Magazine, Rhode Island Monthly, and Fine Homebuilding, among other publications. Her first best-selling book, The New Small House, was published by The Taunton Press in October 2015. Her second book, The New Cottage, was published by The Taunton Press in December 2018.
